Who doesn’t want a million dollar mansion? I would love to live in a luxury home but do I really want the mortgage that comes along with that mega mansion? I always tell my clients you might be able to afford the million dollar mansion, but do you really want that million dollars mortgage? It really doesn’t mean what you can afford.I feel way more comfortable telling my clients and myself purchase what you feel comfortable. When you make an application with the loan officer tell the loan officer what monthly payments you are comfortable with. You can apply with a local lender right here. Personally, I keep thinking about upgrading to a much larger home all the time. But then I think about the mortgage payment and I am happy with my Dale City Single Family Home. It’s just me, my man and my pets so we are perfectly happy in our 5 Bedroom, 3.5 Bathroom Dale City Single Family Home. I rather save that extra mortgage payment and buy another investment property. I don’t have a large family so I am perfectly happy where I am right now, but you might want to purchase a larger home. Whatever you are looking for you always want to make sure you can afford your home comfortably. If you are married you might want to get a pre-qualification based on one of your salaries and not depend on both. You never know what might happen in the future. If one of you loses his or her job you don’t want to be in financial troubles. But then again some buyers don’t mind. It is really all about what you feel comfortable with. You have to determine where your comfort level is.
