Discovering Occoquan, VA: A Tour of Hidden Gems
Today, I want to take you on a personal journey to one of my favorite places, Occoquan, VA. This quaint town is more than just picturesque historic town; it’s home to hidden gems that have captured my heart over the years. I have been coming to Occoquan since I first moved to Woodbridge VA and truly fallen in love with this beautiful Riverfront town.
The Charm of Gaslight Landing
My drive into Occoquan always begins with the eye-catching sight of Gaslight Landing. These homes are iconic with Occoquan and are a true landmark. Homes in Gaslight Landing will sell for around $800,000 to $900,000. They feature 4 levels with elevator and of course offer the convenience of living in a resort style town like Occoquan. With private piers and boat docks, they’re a sought-after property that I love showing to potential homeowners.
A Water Lover’s Paradise at Occoquan Reservoir
One of my favorite activities in Occoquan is renting a paddleboat or kayak at the Occoquan Reservoir. Located right behind Madigan’s, this popular spot offers an enjoyable way to connect with nature. Whether you’re into stand-up paddleboarding or simply enjoying the view, the Reservoir is an oasis of relaxation.
Family Fun & Quaint Shopping
Occoquan truly shines when it comes to family-friendly activities. A place like Puzzle Palooza, known for games, is a hit with kids. As for me, I find joy in exploring the quaint stores, like Gifts and Gather, which offers delightful candle-making classes and other arts and craft workshops.
Being a Swiss native, I have a soft spot for NazBros exquisite chocolates. I never miss a chance to indulge in these sweet treats during my strolls through town.
Culinary Delights
Occoquan’s culinary scene is as rich as its history. Be sure to check my video about the restaurants in Occoquan.
New Condos coming to Occoquan
The Mill at Occoquan will be luxury Condos with River or Town Views. I’m thrilled to see how this town continues to grow and flourish. You can check out the project on the towns website
The Heart of the Community: River Mill Park
River Mill Park is Occoquan’s vibrant heart. I have fond memories of attending free concerts, enjoying picnics, and walking by the iconic love sign after all “Virginia is for Lovers” and we are proud to have this slogan displayed in River Mill Park. This park isn’t just a place; it’s a symbol of community and warmth, something that has always drawn me to Occoquan.
